Chapter: 571
"Yes, but such men are quite hard to find, aren't they?" Alicia's assistant retorted, her jaded nature rising to the surface. "Take Miss Bennet's ex-husband, for example. You would think he's the right man, too, at first, but the truth is that he's absolute scum!"

Her colleague nodded in agreement. "You do have a point there..."

Meanwhile, Alicia was so tired that she dozed off on the car ride home. It was Caden's call that pulled her out of her daze.

“Hey," she said as she answered her phone. All the tension in her body seemed to have melted away in the blink of an eye. “What's up?"

On his end, Caden was watching her interview from earlier that day.

She had worn a loose, red sweater that gave her a cozy and friendly vibe, a clear reflection of her personality.

It was rare for her to dress like this, and the sight of it stirred something within Caden.

“Where are you?" he asked. "I'm on my way back to the apartment. Do you want to come over?"

Alicia pulled her phone from her ear and checked her location. She was already halfway to the hotel.

But she was far too exhausted to move even a single inch. “If I come over, will you help me with a bath?"

There was a pause before Caden spoke. “If you give me something in return, I might consider it."

"No, I'm going to sleep right after the bath," Alicia stated firmly.

"Oh, well. If you're not interested, I'll just head back to the hotel."

Caden stubbornly held his ground. “All right, you might as well stay at the hotel, then. They have nice amenities there, anyway."

Alicia said nothing more and directly hung up the phone.

She spent the rest of the drive napping. The moment she entered her hotel room, she discarded her clothes and made a beeline for the bathroom.

A while later, she emerged from her shower to find a certain someone lounging on her bed, completely undressed. He stared up at her with his head cocked to the side, his expression serene.

Alicia's jaw fell open.

How in the world did he get in here?

But then she shook her head at herself. What a stupid question.

Caden never ran out of methods when he was going for something he wanted.

Alicia felt her legs tremble under her after a long day. Too tired to even drive him out of the room, she wordlessly padded to the bed, pulled out the covers, and lay down.

Caden opened his arms, and she instinctively turned and buried herself in his embrace, nestling her head on his arm.

Her eyes were already half-closed when she suddenly became aware of something hard poking her lower stomach.

Alicia froze. "Well, that was quick," she muttered in a mix of surprise and amusement.

"I could hear you showering from here," Caden remarked nonchalantly.

"Naturally, my mind began to conjure up scenes where you~"

Alicia reached up and covered his mouth. “Stop talking. I don't want to hear the rest of it."

Caden chuckled and pressed a kiss against her palm. "Come on, it wants to say hi to you," he coaxed her. "Don't you want to greet it and maybe... sit on it?"

Alicia couldn't even find the strength to roll her eyes. She just shook her head slightly as her eyelids began to droop.
