Chapter: 589
Realization dawned quickly, and disbelief flashed across his face as he exclaimed, "You tricked me?"
Caden remained unbothered, his voice calm and measured. "What exactly did I lie about?"
Gerry's frustration boiled over. "You had Hank tell me you fell into the sea-that you were on the verge of dying!"
Without a hint of remorse, Caden replied, "I did fall in. I just happened to get back up again." His next words were spoken with an unsettling casualness. "Then I went to kiss a woman. Is there a problem with that?"
Gerry stormed away, muttering curses under his breath.
Even after stepping off the cruise ship, he could not shake his anger. He turned back, his voice dripping with bitterness. "Caden, you absolute jerk! I never want to see your face again!"
Hank remained by the car, frozen in place like a mannequin. “Mr. Hopkins, I did my best to stop you, but you would not Listen.”
Gerry shot a glare at him, cursing him as well.
Hank could only stand there, speechless.
The two men climbed into their respective cars and drove off in opposite directions.
Once their taillights disappeared from view, another vehicle crept out from the darkness, parking stealthily beneath a sprawling tree.
Yolanda watched the cruise ship intently.
In the inky blackness of the night, everything felt eerily quiet yet undeniably romantic.
Without warning, a dazzling display of fireworks erupted in the sky, breaking the stillness with a bang.
The fireworks were magnificent and awe-inspiring, momentarily illuminating half the sky as if it were day.
On the cruise ship, two figures were entwined in the dance of light and shadow.
They kissed amid the biting wind.
Caden passionately pressed his lips against Alicia's neck, tugging at the annoying fabric of her dress.
Yolanda's eyes brimmed with tears, her heart heavy with pain. She quickly turned her gaze away.
Clenching the steering wheel with white-knuckled intensity, her chest seethed with a raging fury. She struggled to keep her jealousy and hatred in check...
Caden then trailed soft kisses across Alicia's nose.
The tip of her nose felt icy against his skin.
Caden eased his hold, his voice barely above a whisper. “Are you feeling cold?"
Alicia encircled his waist with her delicate arms.
She shook her head in response.
The wind tousled her silky hair, exposing her smooth neck and cheeks.
Her eyes shimmered, glistening like a sorceress's beneath the soft light, making her all the more alluring.
Caden's breath caught for a moment. Then, without hesitation, he lifted her and carried her inside.
Alicia protested, "I want to see the fireworks!"
"You can enjoy them through the floor-to-ceiling windows," he replied.
