Chapter: 649
Caden returned to the bathroom for a shower.
He opted for a cold one.
Realizing he wasn't going to make a move, Alicia got up, got dressed, and straightened herself out.
However, she suspected there was more to his actions than just applying ointment.
She settled herself in the living room to wait.
When Caden emerged from the shower, he didn't beat around the bush.
“Why did you hit Yolanda today?"
Alicia braced herself for the confrontation. "She provoked it."
"Did she cause harm?"
"She did, but it wasn't me who suffered," Alicia said, recalling the sight of Cade, injured and suffering at the pet hospital, which pained her.
Caden hadn't realized Cade was missing.
His focus was solely on Alicia.
He asked, “Just because Yolanda said something, you gave her a concussion?"
His casual tone made it hard for Alicia to discern whether he was merely curious or if he was taking Yolanda's side.
“As I told you, she had it coming," Alicia said, remorseless.
Caden responded sternly, “Alicia, you acted too impulsively this time."
He knew her well enough to understand that mere words wouldn't usually drive her to violence.
He had suspected she was also hurt.
Yet, he had checked and she had insisted she was fine.
Her emotions overwhelmed her.
Alicia stared at him. "What did you call me back here for?"
“It's simple. Apologize to Yolanda," Caden said, trying to negotiate with her.
Alicia was taken aback, then she clenched her teeth. "No way. She targeted Cade first. Hitting her was self-defense!"
Caden's expression grew stern. “Are you comparing a dog with the Moss family?"
Alicia stood her ground and replied, "Of course not. Yolanda can't be compared to Cade.”
Caden was momentarily lost for words.
He then reclined on the sofa, gazing at her lazily. "Yolanda is the Moss family's sole heiress. Even I have to indulge her whims. Do you understand the repercussions of hitting her? You've upset Dorian."
Tears welled up in Alicia's eyes.
She bowed her head. "That's my issue. What does it have to do with you?"
His response was a scoff. "Do you think you can handle him? Dorian could close your gallery with a single command, making it difficult for you to remain in Warrington. Are you prepared to take that risk?"
