Chapter: 664
Alicia said truthfully, "No, he didn't."
Ciara wasn't one to assign blame after the fact. Given that Caden was primarily responsible, it was up to him to resolve the issue.
She shifted the conversation to lighter topics to ease the atmosphere.
As they were chatting, Caden returned.
He looked at Ciara without any expression. "You came here alone, without even a bodyguard?”
Ciara was unfazed. "There are so many people around in the hospital. What could possibly happen to me? Plus, I'm with Alicia. What danger could I possibly face?"
Caden's response was cold. “She caused Yolanda muscle tears with a single slap. What do you think?"
Ciara was at a loss for words.
She felt a strong urge to knock some sense into Caden. Such an infuriating kid!
Even now, he continued to upset Alicia.
Caden said flatly, "Let's go. I'll take you home."
Ciara dismissed him. "Go away. I want to stay and chat with Alicia."
"She might not want your company."
"You're the one she doesn't want around. Leave!"
Caden fell silent.
At that moment, the doctor arrived to apply new medication to Alicia.
The severity of the frostbite was startling.
Ciara glanced back at Caden, who looked troubled but maintained a stern demeanor.
His contradictory behavior was baffling; why did he have to be so stubborn?
Ciara nudged him. “Get some effective medicine. Women care about their appearance and fear pain. Hurry and find something that helps her heal faster."
Caden swallowed hard.
Before he could respond, Alicia said, "No need, Mrs. Ward. The hospital's medicine seems effective enough.”
Ciara reassured her. "It's okay. He hasn't treated you well, and you deserve better. He ought to do this for you."
Caden spoke without emotion. "She made it clear she doesn't want it. Why insist?"
Ciara was seething with anger. She grabbed her cane and hit him forcefully.
The sound of the impact was notably dull and heavy.
Caden remained motionless, seemingly unaffected by the pain.
Once the doctor had finished changing the bandages, he stood up and gave them a curious look.
“Which one of you is related to the patient?" he asked.
Ciara gestured towards Caden. “He is."
