Chapter: 687
He was taken aback by her words.

Alicia tapped the touchscreen, and the car door unlocked automatically.

"Get out. I need to head back."

Caden remained seated.

“My driver has already left with the car. Ms. Bennett, since you're heading in my direction, could you give me a lift?"

Alicia Looked annoyed.

What was his deal? Hadn't they settled this already?

Why was he behaving like this again? It hadn't even been twenty days.

She was aware that she still had feelings for him and knew she couldn't be around him for long.

She made up an excuse. "I'm not going your way. I have other stops to make."

"Just drop me off anywhere in the city."

With that, he casually switched on the news channel.

Alicia started to say something, but he interrupted her, saying, “My grandmother is one of your best clients. Can't you do me this small favor?"

Alicia was left without words.

She silently cursed him in her thoughts.

Caden's lips curled into a slight smile as if he understood.

"Don't worry. This is the last time I'll ask for your help. Next time I encounter you, Ms. Bennett, I'll make sure to keep my distance."

Alicia responded coldly, “Buckle up!"

As they drove off, Alicia's thoughts drifted to the bouquet she had seen at the grave, leaving her with mixed emotions.

“Why did you bring flowers to my mom's grave?"

Caden casually toyed with the feather pendant hanging in front of him.

“I happened to be nearby, so I stopped to pay my respects."

Alicia tightened her Lips.

"Next time, don't."

Her message was clear to Caden: she found such actions unnecessary and did not want them repeated.

He remained silent.

As they neared a corner, Alicia slowed the car and steered around it.

Suddenly, someone ran in front of the car, striking it with a sound.

Alicia was briefly shocked.

She quickly exited the car to investigate.
