Chapter: 707
She did not want to pursue the conversation any longer.

They arrived at the private room she had booked, and Alicia halted, turning to him. "We are finished with this conversation. You can head inside. Tonight's expenses are on me."

Caden peered into the room.

"What do you mean by that?"

Alicia replied, "You came all this way, swallowing your pride, just for a night of intimacy, didn't you? I cannot give you what you want, but there are others who can. This place boasts the highest ratings, and the women here are known for their reputation. If you enjoy yourself tonight, you will no longer need me. So please leave me alone."

Caden's expression shifted, his eyes clouding with a stormy darkness.

Alicia retrieved a thick stack of cash from her purse.

She tossed the cash lightly against his chest.

"I will even cover the tips for them." she smiled. "Go on, have a good time."

Caden's expression darkened as he seized her wrist.

His eyes shadowed with intensity. "What is the point of putting each other through this agony?"

Alicia met his gaze steadily.

“Are you feeling humiliated?" she scoffed. “I doubt anyone's ever dared to throw money at you before, Mr. Ward."

Deep down, she understood he did not truly love her.

If he truly cherished her, he would not have directed blame at her without first seeking clarification during their meeting at her workplace tonight.

Nor would he have thrown the box of medicine at her as if it were mere refuse.

He mistakenly assumed that financial gifts and material possessions were sufficient to please women, completely unaware that his careless actions caused the deepest wounds.

She gently pried Caden's hands away, making every effort to hold back her tears.

Then she turned and departed.

She drove home, and as she climbed the stairs, she caught a glimpse of a car slipping away into the night.

The license plate flashed by. It seemed familiar.

Suddenly, she recalled that since Caden had left for his business trip, this very car had appeared daily in her life.

It seemed to be everywhere she turned.

It shadowed her whether she was heading to work or making her way back home.

She had her suspicions, yet she decided to investigate further. As she suspected, the vehicle was registered in Caden's name.

Hank was the one behind the wheel.

A bittersweet smile crossed her lips as a sharp ache settled in her heart.

Caden was constantly looking out for her, yet she remained unaware of his feelings for her.

Caden's anger ignited swiftly, only to cool down just as rapidly.

Once he left the club, he set out to find Alicia once more, but he quickly realized he could not even step foot past her front door.
