Chapter: 720
She quickly moved away from him, adjusting her hemline with determination.
He fixed his gaze on her. "Do not ever try to evade me again."
Alicia shot back, "I am not evading you. If you cannot locate me, it is simply because you lack the ability."
"I am certainly proficient in other aspects. Care to find out if I am boasting?"
Alicia remained silent.
She turned away, picked up her purse, and then brought her heel down forcefully onto Caden's foot.
The sudden pain sent a chill down Caden's spine, but he kept his face neutral.
Even as agony coursed through him, he maintained a tough facade.
To reinforce his act, he added, "Is that truly the best you can do?"
After Alicia departed, he lingered in the lounge for a bit longer.
When he eventually exited, he spotted Gerry hanging around.
Gerry had trailed them but had not overheard anything; he merely witnessed Alicia storming out into the hall, clearly furious.
He presumed that the two had a significant argument. To his astonishment, he noticed the Lipstick smudge on Caden's Lips.
He concluded that it suggested the two had shared a kiss.
So why was Alicia so upset?
Gerry raised an eyebrow. "You did not coerce Alicia, did you?"
Caden wiped the lipstick from his lips with a flick of his tongue.
"Do I seem like that sort of person?"
"Absolutely. You practically embody that type."
Caden chose to disregard him.
Then he stepped outside.
With a straight face, he asked, "Is there a first aid kit in the halt?"
"Yes. Why do you ask?" Gerry leaned out to inquire. "Are you injured?"
"I'm not."
Caden grabbed the first aid kit and headed back to the vacant Lounge to tend to the swelling on his foot.
Alicia had stomped down with such force that she nearly punctured his shoe.
She must have put in a significant amount of strength.
Caden could not help but laugh. He unbuttoned a few buttons on his shirt and rolled up his sleeves to cool down.
The banquet outside was on the verge of starting.
Cliff came searching for Caden.
