Chapter: 763
"I am simply adhering to the established protocol. If you wish to interact with the products, we must first record your information. This way, if anything goes wrong with the product due to your use, we can address any issues in a timely manner."
Despite the politeness in his tone, the implication of his words was unmistakable to everyone present.
Blake was on the verge of losing his temper, but Alicia intervened just in time.
She shifted her attention to a nearby display, where a couple was enjoying the experience, surrounded by several attendants who greeted them with friendly smiles.
Alicia recognized the couple immediately.
It was a well-known tycoon and his wife.
Alicia boldly asked, "Are you asking for proof of our financial standing?"
The man, upon hearing her question, did not hold back his retort.
"Ma'am, please do not make this more difficult for me than it has to be. Just this screen alone is valued at over a million dollars. If any damage were to occur and you were unable to cover it, I would be held responsible."
Blake could no longer restrain himself. "If something goes wrong after she has only had one opportunity to interact with it, maybe you should reconsider why the product is so fragile instead of preventing us from touching it."
The man said, “Sir, there's no need to be upset. I'm merely sticking to the rules."
He gestured and added in a taunting tone, "You've been on your feet for quite some time, and I'm sure you're tired. There's a rest area just over there with complimentary coffee and desserts. Please, help yourselves."
Alicia let out a laugh.
She asked, “We've only been here for half an hour. How could we be as tired as you? You're on your feet all day. What do they pay you for such a day's work?"
The man was taken aback for a moment but quickly replied, "Well, it's surely less than what you all earn here, considering you're the bosses."
Alicia guessed, asking, “Could it be fifteen thousand dollars?”
The man's face subtly changed.
Noticing his reaction, Alicia continued with a smile, “Seven thousand dollars? Four thousand dollars?"
Blake mocked, "Maybe only five hundred dollars?"
The man snapped back, “Two thousand dollars, after taxes."
Blake laughed, amused by how readily the man had responded. “Per day? That's not too bad."
The man's cheeks blushed.
His 2, @0@ dollars was actually his monthly wage.
Yet, he was too embarrassed to correct Blake.
Alicia glanced at his name badge and said coldly, “I had assumed you were in a higher position, given how capable you were of screening clients for your boss."
The man was irritated by her indifference. “What are you implying?"
Alicia was about to respond, but suddenly, a commanding voice came from behind Alicia. “Exactly what she said. Is it that hard to understand?"
Startled, Alicia turned around.
It was Caden.
He stood there in a black shirt, his presence authoritative.
