“What about the years of friendship with the Ward family?" Regina asked. "Does that mean nothing to you?"

Dorian let out a cold, humorless laugh. He looked like a madman who had been driven to the edge, with no other recourse. "I won't do anything extreme. Not yet. It all depends on his next move."

He reached for his wife's hand. “Regina, Caden and I are now rivals in a fierce game. We are fighting for the people we care about. There is nothing wrong with that."
