Chapter: 1485
“Little guy." Carson touched his head.
“It seemed like you wanted to say something while we were by the door. Do you mind talking about it now?"
The boy glanced at Carson but still remained quiet. Then he turned his head and looked at Victor.
Victor also turned his face toward him and their eyes met.
Finally, Joey broke his silence.
"I have been meaning to ask you a question. Do you not ask me where Mommy had been in those four years?"
Four years ago, Quintin was sitting on a chair with his head bowed.
This was right outside the operating room on the top floor of the hospital affiliated with the Red Hackers headquarters in the Marian
Islands.
The corridor was so cold and quiet, one could hear a pin drop.
Meanwhile, the door of the operating room was firmly shut. There was a red light that flashed to indicate that work was still being done inside.
ALL of a sudden, Quintin heard a sound that made him stand on his feet immediately. The iron door in front of him clicked and opened slowly.
He reacted a little too quickly. As a result, he staggered slightly from being dizzy. He hadn't been able to catch any sleep for two whole days. But in no time, he comported himself and rushed forward, without paying attention to the strong discomfort he felt in his body.
"How is she?" Quintin held his breath.
In response to the question, the doctor took off his mask and frowned.
"The patient is not out of danger yet. The fact that she was in the water for a very long time while pregnant means that she underwent a life-threatening level of suffocation, not just for her but for the fetus as well. All the vital signs are failing at the moment. We are left with no choice but to depend on her willpower."
He paused briefly before adding, "This is the notice of critical illness. You have to sign your name on it.”
Rachel was still in danger! And the notice of critical illness...
When Quintin cast a glance at the paper the doctor handed over to him, the words “critical illness" bothered him a great deal.
“How can this be?" His dry lips opened slightly. He still couldn't believe what was happening.
"Wasn't everything fine the other day?"
As soon as their men knew that Rachel had jumped into the sea, they wasted no time to come to her rescue. Three days later, she woke up from a coma. After resting in their temporarily rented apartment for around a week, they went to her funeral. Victor was seen kneeling in front of her grave.
How on earth did things change for the worse so badly? Why did she become ill all of a sudden? She was fine only a few days ago.
He finally managed to bring her back from Apliaria.
“Your diagnosis might be wrong. Have you thought of that?" Quintin asked in a husky voice.
