Chapter: 1727
In an instant, Klein and Shayla both turned their gaze to Rachel, completely caught off guard by her agreement with Rowell. Rachel was openly critiquing their project in front of the Health Bureau representatives.
In Klein's mind, it felt like a string had suddenly snapped.
He had poured so much effort into this, and was it all about to be ruined by Rachel's careless remarks?
“Rachel Bennet-" In his desperation, Klein had forgotten that Rachel was his superior and addressed her by her full name.
“Miss Bennet, that's quite honest of you," Rowell said with a knowing chuckle.
"I believe in being transparent in project discussions. We should acknowledge not just the strengths but also the weaknesses, right? I presume that in your project discussions, you also anticipate honesty from the other side," Rachel responded, glancing at the visibly upset Klein, a small smile on her face.
“Absolutely.” Rowell agreed, satisfied.
“Are you implying that the price can be lowered?"
"No." Rachel's smile slightly dimmed.
“From a user's perspective, it's natural to perceive the price as being on the higher side.
However, when considering it from a business and future-oriented standpoint, I firmly believe that this price is more than reasonable."
"Your data is lacking, and yet you claim it's justified? That's quite a confident assertion, wouldn't you agree?" A young man seated beside Rowell couldn't resist smirking.
"There's no need to rush to conclusions," she replied, walking to Klein and reaching out.
"Hand me the remote control and return to your seat."
Klein furrowed his brows, and his gaze seemed to question her intentions.
He was concerned that Rachel could potentially put the project at risk.
They had spent more than six months to advance through the preliminary stages of the project.
Rachel signaled with her finger, speaking in a composed yet authoritative manner.
"Let me repeat, go back to your seat."
Klein held onto the remote control more firmly, remained silent for a moment, and then handed it to her with reluctance.
“You better be able to convince them."
"Instead of being concerned about me, better think about how you'll explain this to our team later," Rachel said, her voice was gentle, yet it carried an undercurrent of firmness.
Klein's complexion slightly shifted, and he returned to his seat in silence.
Rachel handed a prepared USB drive to Shayla.
