Chapter: 1745
"You can't have it both ways," Rachel said harshly.
"How dare you speak to me like that, Shelia!" Odin was visibly angered by her words. Usually, he wouldn't be prone to irritation, as he had never taken Shelia or Alberto seriously. As a person of high social standing, he had never been concerned about what others remarked about him.
Somehow, a sharp pang of discomfort struck him in the chest when Rachel made a harsh comment with a faint smile while looking at him.
“Well, if you regret your decision, I can return," Rachel said, not ceasing her taunts but maintaining her composure.
Odin glared at her with a mixture of affection and resentment.
"Excuse me, Miss Davis," Dewey called out her after leaving the private box, leaving Odin no chance to respond.
Rachel looked at him with surprise, noting that he had arrived promptly.
"Miss Davis, Mr. Gibson isn't feeling well and wishes to leave. It's getting late now. You might find it more challenging to drive back.
Moreover, the project site is quite remote. Mr. Gibson sent me to ask if you'd like to go back with us." As Dewey spoke, he subtly watched Odin's reaction.
Rachel understood.
Dewey left the private box, and it wasn't a mere coincidence. Alberto had anticipated that Odin might cause her trouble, so he intentionally sent Dewey to assist her.
Rachel glanced back at Odin.
"Mr. Sullivan?"
She didn't mean anything and was simply waiting for him to respond to her question.
Odin gazed at her in silence, emotions surging in her eyes. He was intelligent, so he clearly understood the implications of her statement.
"Be careful on the way. Let me know when you get there," Odin replied coldly, almost without hesitation.
Rachel formed a faint smile on her lips, but the mockery flashing through her face caused pain in Odin's eyes again.
He was aware that she did it on purpose.
She deliberately waited for him to say those words.
Previously, he had decided to send her to Alberto because of the project. But now, he expressed regret but still let her go back to Alberto.
His actions conflicted with his words.
Odin admitted to himself he hadn't gotten used to her absence due to his intense possessiveness. He firmly believed she belonged to him and couldn't bear the thought of her being close to Alberto.
Rachel offered Odin a chance to reconsider, but he declined it. As a result, he would have no grounds to blame her the next time they met.
This was Rachel's intention-entirely preventing Odin from taking her back to Sullivan Group.
