Chapter: 1750
“I just wanted to hear your voice."

Hearing that, Rosa didn't respond.

It appeared that Elliott had also realized that his words were somewhat inappropriate. He cleared his throat to ease the awkwardness, sat up, and changed the subject.

"Rosa, are you alright? Did the Moran family give you a hard time?"

"No. They didn't."

"No? Libby insisted on inviting you back for dinner today. Do you think she did it impulsively and out of kindness? She didn't do anything behind your back?"

Hearing this, Rosa found the situation odd. But in fact, Libby hadn't done anything unusual, and it seemed she just wanted to invite her and Maya for a dinner.

Rosa couldn't figure out what Libby was planning.

“No, she didn't."

"That's a relief," Elliott said with a frown.

"She better not cause trouble. By the way, regarding Maya's custody... I've consulted with someone. You're a well-known agent now. If Carson really want to challenge you, I'm afraid it won't be that easy."

Hearing Elliott's voice on the phone, Rosa looked up, but to her surprise, she saw Libby hurrying out of the yard and crossing the road. Libby stopped next to a flashy red Ferrari.

A man then stepped out of the Ferrari.

"Hey, Carson! What are you doing here?" Libby said with a sweet smile. She stood in front of Carson and looked up at him. Her eyes shone under the faint street light.

“I ran some errands, and I happened to pass by here. So, I stopped to smoke." As he spoke, Carson looked at her eyes. Suddenly, he was stunned. Her eyes looked Like Rosa's.

"Oh, I see." Libby drawled.

"So, you are not here to see Rosa."

Carson's hand holding the cigarette froze for a moment.

"Is Rosa back?"

Libby observed Carson's expression carefully and noticed that he was slightly stunned. The light in her eyes darkened. But the trace of disappointment on her face was only fleeting. Then, she put on an innocent smile and said, “Well, today is my mother's birthday, so I asked Rosa and Maya to come back for dinner. Maya has fallen asleep, so Rosa will stay here tonight."

"I see..." Carson lowered his eyelashes. The light from the street lamp fell on his head, leaving a shadow on his face. It was hard to figure out the changes in his mood at the moment.

Libby secretly clenched her fists. But she forced a smile and said, "Carson, it's cold outside. How about we go inside and have some coffee? Rosa is inside. You haven't seen each other for a long time, right? You two can..."

“No, thanks." Carson refused without hesitation, and his tone unconsciously became colder.

The words Libby wanted to say were stuck in her throat.
