Chapter: 1749
"Okay."

"Dad and I are here for you, always," Libby reassured, gently holding her mother's hand as they descended the stairs.

“I've asked the servant to cook soup for you."

“Libby, I appreciate it." June felt warm in her heart as she looked at Libby. She couldn't help but think that if only Rosa could be with them, the whole family would gradually get better.

Libby's smile shone bright, her eyes curved like moon crescents.

Back in her room, after closing the door, Rosa returned to the bed and sat down. As she sat down, Maya, who was deeply asleep, rolled over and reached out from under the quilt. Maya grasped her clothes unconsciously and murmured, "Mommy..."

Gently caressed Maya's head, Rosa whispered, “Good girl Mommy is right here. Go back to sleep."

Maya appeared to have heard Rosa's voice in her sleep before peacefully returning to slumber. Rosa carefully tucked Maya's hand into the quilt and was about to head to the bathroom to take a shower. Just then, her phone rang.

She glanced at the caller ID. Mindful of not disturbing Maya, she quickly picked up the phone and stepped onto the balcony.

"Rosa." A deep voice came through the phone.

“Has Maya fallen asleep?"

"Yes, she just fell asleep." With her hands Leaning on the balustrade of the balcony, Rosa gazed down at the courtyard downstairs. A somber expression crossed her face.

“Don't you have an event tomorrow? Why are you still awake?"

“I can't sleep." The man on the other end of the phone rest against his bed's headboard.

"It's been a whole day since I saw Maya. I'm starting to miss her a bit."

"Oh, really?" Rosa asked, her brow furrowing.

"Rosa, when are you planning to return?" he asked.

"Tomorrow. But the event will be three days long. Maya has been dealing with a cold lately. I don't plan to take her there," Rosa said calmly.

"What? Then I won't be seeing you in three days then.”

“Elliott, are you acting like a kid?" Hearing the disappointment in his voice, Rosa pinched her nose.

Who would have expected that the renowned celebrity, Elliott, would behave like a spoiled kid towards his agent at this moment? If she didn't know Elliott well and understand his personality, she might not have been able to handle it.

"I've only been in showbiz for three years." Elliott was unfazed by her teasing.

"Have a good rest. If you look tired in tomorrow's photos, I'll have words with you when you return," Rosa said in a professional tone.

"You're so strict." Elliott curled his lips.
