Chapter: 1756
Rosa tried to reassure herself and made her way downstairs. But as soon as she reached the living room, Libby's voice sounded behind her.
“Rosa, it's so late. Are you going out?"
"Yes," Rosa replied, glancing at Libby. How could Libby appear behind her without her noticing it?
Libby deliberately put on a worried expression. She asked, “Where are you going? Did something happen? Do you want me to accompany you?"
Rosa looked at Libby coldly.
"Libby, there are only you and me here at this moment. You don't need to pretend to be so concerned. Don't you feel exhausted putting on such an act?"
When Libby heard this, her grip on the glass of milk in her hand tightened.
“What nonsense are you talking about? Rosa, I am your sister. Isn't it only normal for me to care about you? Why are you so hostile to me?"
Rosa gave Libby a deep look, turned around, and headed for the door.
Libby watched Rosa's receding back. Her grip on the glass of milk tightened even more. She didn't move until Rosa disappeared from her sight.
She glanced at the freshly poured milk, turned to look at Rosa's room, and took a deep breath.
After a few moments, the sound of a car engine echoed in the yard.
Then, it drove out. Libby ran to the front door, put down the glass in her hand, and picked up a coat from the hallway rack. She grabbed her car keys and followed Rosa.
She had to follow Rosa to see what Rosa was up to.
Her intuition told her that Rosa's departure was not a good sign.
So Libby sped up to catch up with Rosa.
Rosa arrived at Valmead Club after ten minutes. She headed straight to the door of Carson's private room.
She reached out and held the doorknob. But she was so hesitant that she didn't push the door open.
At the thought that she was about to see Carson, she became reluctant.
She suddenly realized she wasn't sure what she would feel when she saw him.
Carson was Maya's father, the man Rosa had once dreamed of marrying.
Now, he was the person contesting her for Maya's custody. He was the one she was set to face in a legal battle. And ironically, Libby's fiance.
Rosa's hesitation didn't last long.
Since she was already here, she'd better check on Carson.
