Chapter: 1765
Carson stopped thinking about where he had heard the name. He walked out of the elevator, went straight to the conference room, and started the meeting that lasted for two hours.

It was already three in the morning when Rosa got home. She didn't drink even a single drop of wine, but she reeked of alcohol.

She took a quick shower and lay beside Maya. She fell asleep with the little girl in her arms.

Maya woke up early in the morning. She gently pinched Rosa's face, trying to wake her mother up. Rosa had some bad dreams, so she didn't sleep well. When she felt Maya's movements, she quickly woke up.

As soon as she opened her sleepy eyes, Maya suddenly fell into her arms.

"Mommy..."

Maya's soft voice melted Rosa's heart. She gently stroked her back and asked, “Maya, why do you wake up so early?"

"I'm not used to sleeping here," Maya replied, pouting.

"Rabbit is not here."

Maya liked to sleep hugging the stuffed rabbit she had brought with her since she was little. Last night, she fell asleep without looking for her rabbit because she was very tired.

“Then, do you want to sleep a Little longer?" Rosa asked with a smile.

"No, Mommy. Let's go back. I want to sleep with my rabbit." Maya shook her head. This was her first time coming to the Moran family's house, and she was unfamiliar with the surroundings. Naturally, she was a bit resistant. As she spoke, her eyes turned a little red.

Rosa's heart was touched when she saw this. She checked the time. It was only seven in the morning.

She caressed Maya's head.

“Okay, let's go home."

Maya got excited upon hearing this. She immediately sat up and obediently changed her clothes. Rosa patted her cheeks to sober herself up. Then she stood up, went to the bathroom, and washed up.

She was still in the bathroom when she heard some knocking on the door.

Then she heard Maya's soft voice.

"Who is it?"

"Maya, are you awake? This is Grandma." June's gentle voice sounded outside.

As soon as Maya opened the door, June bent down, smiled, and reached out to touch Maya's head. However, Maya stepped back and dodged.

At that moment, Rosa walked out of the bathroom. She saw her mother's hand freeze in midair.

"Rosa..." June stood straight and looked at her.

"Breakfast is ready.

Let's go downstairs and eat together."

June was always a little cautious in front of Rosa.

"No, thanks. Maya didn't sleep well last night. She wants to go home this morning, so we need to leave. We'll just buy some food on the way," Rosa replied with her usual cold attitude.

This was probably the longest she had said since she arrived at the Moran family's house last night.

June frowned. She probably didn't like what Rosa had said.

"Breakfast is ready, so we can eat first before you go. Besides, food outside is not always safe. Maya is still a child. You can't just let her eat food from stalls on the street."

Rosa's eyes suddenly turned cold.

"I grew up eating food from street stalls, but I'm healthy."

Rosa grew up with no affection from her parents. When she was a child, she was always left alone with the nanny. Her parents would only send money to her nanny every month for her expenses. But because of their absence, the nanny didn't take good care of her.

Instead of cooking meals for her, the nanny only gave her a Little money and asked her to find something to eat outside.

She had no choice but to find some cheap stalls on the street to fill her stomach.

June fell silent for a moment. Her heart seemed to be pricked by thousands of needles. She said guiltily, "Rosa... I don't mean it like that. I'm just worried about Maya. It's my fault that I didn't take good care of you back then. I know it's my fault."

"I'm Maya's mother. I will take good care of her." After saying this, Rosa picked up Maya and Looked at her mother indifferently.

"As for what had happened back then, I have already forgotten about it."

When she forgot those painful memories, she also forgot that she had parents.
