Chapter: 1779
But she was telling the truth. After all, she and Carson were both good-looking. Maya had inherited the best genes from both of them. In fact, she was already pretty at such a young age. So, there was no doubt she would grow up to be a beautiful woman.
"Carson, eat some of this. This is one of your favorite dishes, right?"
Libby said softly, putting some food into Carson's plate thoughtfully.
"Valmead Club has hired a new chef, and this dish tastes better than before."
Carson glanced at the food on his plate, subconsciously raised his eyes, and looked at Rosa.
She was busy wiping Maya's hands with a wet tissue. He didn't know if she didn't hear Libby's words or if she completely disregarded them.
Carson's eyes darkened. He picked up something, put it on Libby's plate, and said, "You should also eat more. I heard from your mom that you haven't been eating much recently to maintain your figure. It's not good for your health.
You look great just the way you are."
"Carson..." Libby's heart raced when she heard what Carson said. But when she looked at her plate, what she saw was a piece of fatty meat. The last thing she would like to eat was fatty meat.
Libby's smile froze again. Mixed emotions surged in her heart.
Her grip on the fork involuntarily tightened. But she forced a smile and said, "All right, I'll eat more."
Suddenly, the sound of a chair scraping against the floor filled the room.
Rosa stood up.
Maya and Jeanne turned their heads simultaneously and looked at her.
"I suddenly remember I have something to deal with. I need to make a phone call," Rosa explained. "You guys continue eating."
After saying this, she left the dining table without looking back.
Jeanne frowned slightly. She glanced at Carson and then at Rosa's receding back, and a hint of worry flashed in her eyes.
She felt sorry for Rosa. Although Rosa was her friend, she couldn't say much.
After all, this was a private matter between Rosa and Carson.
Her eyes moved to Libby.
At first, Jeanne was oblivious. But as they stayed longer at the dining table, she noticed that Libby was very fond of Carson. Libby's constant attention to him and her attempts to please him was so evident that even the most naive person would understand.
However, Libby was Rosa's sister. She didn't expect Libby and Rosa to fall in love with the same man.
"Carson..."
A sharp sound suddenly echoed in the room.
