Chapter: 1785
After the call, Rosa leaned against the wall, gazing at her phone's call log, deep in thought.
However, little did she know that Carson hadn't gone too far and had overheard every word of her conversation with Elliott.
Libby had a hard time slipping away from Jeanne. As she rushed outside, she found Carson standing there and his gaze was locked onto Rosa's retreating figure. She bit her lower lip and pondered for a moment. She then approached and called him out, acting as though she hadn't noticed that.
"Carson." Libby took Carson's arm. “Why are you standing here all by yourself?"
Carson glanced at her hand, then pulled his arm away. “Nothing important. I have a few meetings this afternoon and need to leave. I've settled the bill."
Then he was on the verge of departing.
Libby sensed there was some tension between Rosa and Carson and that was the reason why Carson suddenly wanted to leave. This tension between the two was precisely what Libby had been hoping for.
She cast a sidelong glance at Rosa and intentionally raised her voice, ensuring that it could be heard by Rosa, who was lost in her own thoughts.
"Carson."
As expected, Rosa turned around and was taken aback to find Carson was still nearby.
She thought he had already departed.
As if he hadn't heard what Libby said, Carson continued to walk. Seeing this, Libby took two steps forward and yelled.
"Ahi"
Then, Libby dramatically collapsed to the ground.
Carson came to a halt and turned to face Libby. She covered her ankle in agony, her eyes welled up with tears as she looked at him. "Carson, I...
Rosa saw the entire act as Libby feigned a fall and pretended to twist her ankle.
Carson furrowed his brow, and when he glanced up, he noticed Rosa looking at them.
He had no intention of helping Libby, but somehow, he approached her and bent down to lift her into his arms.
Libby was taken by surprise when Carson lifted her. She gazed at him with astonishment and said softly, “Carson.”
"I'm taking you to the hospital."
"I'm sorry, Carson. I didn't mean to be a bother."
"It's my responsibility to look after you," Carson said in a detached tone.
His true motive was to make Rosa feel jealous.
But it seemed Rosa wasn't paying attention. She didn't appear bothered.
