Chapter: 1786
Carson's expression grew darker. He wished he could set Libby down, but he couldn't. Regardless of his concern for the Moran family's reputation, he had to do what was decent.
With a stoic expression, he had no option but to carry Libby to the elevator.
Jeanne and Maya, having finished their meal, noticed that Rosa still hadn't returned. They left together, holding hands, and stumbled upon the situation.
Maya took a step closer and grasped Rosa's hand. "Mommy, Daddy..."
With a hint of nervousness on her innocent face, she wanted to inquire Rosa about where Carson was headed.
“Maya, your father got some things to take care of," Rosa said gently.
Observing Carson's departure, Maya pursed her lips and displayed a hint of displeasure as her cheeks puffed out.
Maya was a young girl, and she trusted her mother's words.
But Jeanne was not naive to what was happening. Seeing Carson leave with Libby in his arms, she couldn't help but ask, “Rosa, are you just going to watch them like this?"
“What else can I do?" asked Rosa, interrupting Jeanne.
Jeanne hesitated, her gaze fixed on Rosa's composed expression. She couldn't comprehend the situation, but she chose to remain silent nonetheless.
Since she met Rosa, she had never heard anything about Maya's father from her. It was only recently when the custody battle between Rosa and Carson became widely known, that Jeanne learned that Maya's father was the heir of Glory Group.
She used to believe that Rosa and Elliott were a couple.
However, she was surprised to learn that Rosa and Carson had been together in the past.
But now, it appeared that they were no longer together.
Jeanne was a straightforward person. Her primary concerns were deciding what to eat and which ingredients to include in the salad. The situation involving Rosa, Carson, and Elliott seemed quite complex to her.
It was such a complicated situation that she preferred not to dwell on it.
“ALL right. You're going to Elliott's movie promotion this afternoon. Shall I drive you there? I have nothing to do this afternoon anyway," Jeanne said.
Shaking her head, Rosa replied, "No, thanks. I need to drop Maya off at the kindergarten."
Hearing this, Jeanne didn't press further.
In Apliaria...
It was already three o'clock in the morning when Rachel returned.
Alberto stopped her before she could return to her room for some rest, advising her not to arrive at the office too early the next day.
As a result, she had a long sleep and woke up nearly at noon.
