Chapter: 1808
"I admit that I was wrong. I know I was wrong, okay?" Rosa conceded grudgingly. After a pause, she added, "By the way, I need a favor.
Could you look after Maya tonight? I have something to attend to."
"What is it?" Elliott's concern was heightened, especially after learning about the near-accident.
“Nothing serious. I need to pick something up from the Moran family's."
“Then let Maya and me come with you," Elliott suggested, anxious for her safety.
“No, thank you." Rosa declined, a hint of a smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "It'll only take about fifteen minutes. You've had a long day so there's no need for both of you to tag along."
Understanding her resolve to go alone, Elliott reluctantly relented.
However, he reminded her, "Promise me that if you need help, you'll call me right away?"
"Okay, I promise."
They both exchanged glances filled with unspoken understanding.
Feeling somewhat relieved, Elliott walked beside her into the elevator. Leaning against the wall, Rosa unlocked her phone and saw that photo again.
Staring at it, her gaze turned steely.
After delivering a thank-you speech to fans, Rosa entrusted Maya to Elliott's care and took a taxi to the Moran family.
Meanwhile, Libby was busy sorting through her wardrobe.
Suddenly, a soft knock echoed through the room.
“Come in," Libby called out.
The door swung open, revealing June with a gentle smile. Observing Libby's meticulous arrangements, she asked, “Prepping for a night out?"
Libby measured a dress against herself in front of the mirror. When she spotted June, she asked eagerly, "Mom, does this look good on me?"
June's eyes softened. "You look stunning in everything, darling."
"Mom!" Libby protested, setting the dress aside and grabbing June's arm. "Give it to me straight. How is it?"
"Alright, alright. I promise, no flattery. It looks fantastic," June said with a hint of amusement. She affectionately tapped Libby on the nose. “What's the occasion? Do you have any special plans tonight?"
Libby let go of June's hand and grabbed another dress, holding it against herself. "Yes."
"With whom?" June asked without missing a beat.
The marriage of the two sisters was a subject of great concern, despite the family's current predicament.
