Chapter: 1836
Unperturbed, Klein continued to type on the keyboard. “Karen, if you seek chaos, kindly exit."
Karen's countenance darkened. "Apart from you, who else among us would perpetrate such an act? Don't pretend that you know nothing, Klein! I am convinced this has something to do with you."
"Do you possess any concrete evidence?" Klein halted his work, coolly glancing at the tablet before fixing his gaze upon her.
"Karen hesitated, struggling for words.
Observing Karen's distress, Shayla swiftly rose and approached her, pulling on Karen's arm. "Karen, there is no substantiated proof that implicates Klein. We ought to exercise caution in..."
“Shayla, are you siding with him?" Karen questioned with displeasure.
Frustrated by Karen's scolding, Shayla felt a pang of injustice. "I merely advocate for a measured approach, Karen. How could you think of me like that?"
Karen shook off Shayla's hand, stating, "I swear, if Klein isn't involved, I'll leave the project team. I've grown weary of collaborating with such a colleague."
“Karen, don't be so impulsive," Ethan advised.
Karen cast a sarcastic glance at Ethan. “What? Ethan, do you also believe Klein is innocent? Do you think I'm framing him?"
“Uh... No." Ethan hesitated, aware that Karen was fueled by anger.
Objecting could potentially disrupt the entire office dynamic.
Ethan's cautious response didn't escalate Karen's frustration.
Anticipating Karen's reaction, Klein closed his laptop, picked it up, and prepared to leave.
Observing Klein's departure, Karen hurriedly moved forward, extending her arms to obstruct him. "Where are you going, Klein?"
"Get out of my way. You are bothering me. Move aside," said Klein.
Undeterred, Karen persisted, "You can't leave until Mr. Gibson arrives!"
“I'U say it for the last time. Get out of my way." Klein, irritated, decided not to engage further. He found the woman before him to be excessively noisy.
"I'll say it again for the last time. You can't go anywhere until Mr. Gibson arrives!" Refusing to let go, Karen continued to stare at Klein.
“Karen, your loyalty is truly commendable." Irritated, Klein struggled to remain composed, his words sharp and laced with sarcasm.
“Klein! What are you talking about?" Barnett, who had remained silent during the argument, couldn't hold back any longer. “How can you say that, Klein?"
Klein looked back at Barnett and sneered.
The disapproving gaze of everyone in the office remained oblivious to Rachel's entrance.
Upon noticing Rachel, Klein realized he couldn't leave just yet. He retraced his steps to his cubicle, retrieved headphones from the drawer, and wore them without a word.
