Chapter: 1841
Initially, suspicion had fallen on Klein because he was perceived as aloof and had processed the leaked data. But they weren't naive and would soon realize he wasn't the only potential suspect.
Rachel, a newcomer with access to all the data, was actually more suspect.
Her phone buzzed with a new message.
She checked it and found a message from Alberto.
Perhaps because she hadn't responded to his earlier message, he had sent another.
"Don't overthink it."
After sending a reply to Rachel, Alberto heard a knock on the door.
It was followed by Dewey's voice.
"It's your brother. He's on the phone now and asking for you."
It was Allen, his younger brother.
Putting down his phone, Alberto responded, “Come in.”
Dewey pushed the door open and walked in, handing his phone over.
Like always, Allen turned to Dewey whenever he couldn't reach Alberto.
After giving the phone, Dewey left the room. Allen was already taking from the other end before Alberto could bring the phone to his ear and say anything. "I heard the data of your project has been leaked.
Is it true?"
Alberto put the phone on speaker, standing up from the wheelchair and pouring himself a glass of water. "Who told you about that?"
"Do you think I need anyone to tell me? It's all over Twitter now.
The poster, the interview. Everything. It would be stranger if I didn't know about it," Allen said with a roll of his eyes, leaning back on his chair.
Alberto said nothing in reply.
“Do you know who's behind it?" Allen probed.
"No," Alberto replied as he put down the glass, showing no signs of concern or upset over the pressing matter.
Allen snorted. Alberto's nonchalance made him doubt his response. "I think you already do. You don't take action unprepared. Besides, Sullivan Group has always been your target. I'm pretty sure you have plenty of cards up your sleeve."
Although they hadn't spent that much time together since Alberto had returned to the Gibson family just recently, Allen still knew his brother very well.
"Come on, man. You don't have to hide things from me. I'm your brother," Allen said, his tone filled with indignation.
