As soon as she sat down, before she even had the chance to buckle up, the driver accelerated away from the airport. Averie gazed out the window at the new surroundings, struggling to believe she had found herself in another country so quickly.

"Where are we headed now? Are we going to meet her?" she asked the driver.

The driver said nothing, his expression unchanged, as though he hadn't heard her at all.

Realizing he wasn't going to answer, Averie parted her lips to speak again but then recalled Emil's warning when she had left his car.

He had advised her against asking certain questions.
