Rachel remained silent, letting the moment linger. Suddenly, she recalled a previous conversation with Kalyn. Looking earnestly at her, she inquired, “By the way, you once mentioned that I remind you of an old friend of yours?"
“What? You seem intrigued," Rachel noted, recognizing a complex expression that briefly crossed Kalyn’s face before she regained her composure, lifting her eyebrows slightly.
Rachel showed no signs of irritation. "Didn't you mention we should have a chat? That's what made me think of it." As she spoke, a subtle smile played across her lips. "Of course, if you'd rather not discuss it, that's fine."
Kalyn lowered her eyelashes, effectively shielding her emotions from Rachel, who could only notice her fingers lightly tapping on the wooden armrest of the sofa, producing a muted sound.
Time passed, and just when Rachel almost believed Kalyn wouldn't respond, she heard a soft chuckle.
