Chapter: 637
CEO."
‘Right-hand man? Twenty-eight years old? That sounds just like me!*
Ivan thought.
The little boy let out another heavy sigh and pouted.
“It's just a pity..."
“Why, what's wrong, kid?"
“Mommy's friend that looks just like you died from brain cancer not too long ago." After responding, the little boy stared Ivan right in the eye.
Although he was wearing sunglasses, Ivan could feel the child's fierce glare, as if he was cursing him.
“Ah, I see... It's indeed a pity!" Ivan didn't know what to say so he just went along with the little boy's story.
“Right? That's why I started thinking of him as soon as I saw you."
Before Ivan could respond, the little boy's watch lit up.
"Oh, I have to go now! My driver's waiting for me outside. Bye!”
The little boy swiftly shouldered his backpack and ran away at full speed.
While Ivan was trying to figure out what just happened, the little boy turned around and shouted, “By the way, my name's Joey Bennet!
When we meet again, you can call me Joe!"
"Huh? What did you just say?" Ivan mumbled in disbelief.
“Remember my name! I'm sure we'll see each other soon!" Joey wore a big grin on his face before turning around and continuing on his way out. Ivan was left with even more questions. But with no one there to answer them.
As soon as Joey got in the car, the video call he had been expecting from Quintin came through.
Before he pressed the answer button, Joey stood up, and stretched his legs as if getting ready for some sort of battle. By the time
Quintin's face came into view, Joey felt ready for the conversation that he was sure would follow.
"Uncle Quintin," Joey called cheekily and took off his sunglasses. A sly light flashed in his big eyes, and his lips curved in a way that couldn't be trusted.
"I'm surprised! It took you longer than I expected to call. I thought I would get your call the moment I got off the plane. But it's been an hour since I got off the plane. Did you just see the video or what?"
Joey wasn't in the least surprised or nervous when he received the video call from Quintin because he had already anticipated it.
Instead, he answered the phone with such calm that it unsettled
Quintin a little.
