Chapter: 664
Joey tilted his head, looking around the room. Only then did he realize that the layout of this room was completely different from the other rooms.
Outside the door, it was cold, stiff and unforgiving. But the inside of the room was warm and intimate.
Joey almost thought that he was hallucinating.
‘Why does this room feel so similar to a baby's room?!
Just as the thought crossed his mind, he noticed a crib in the middle of the room that confirmed his assumption. ‘But why did my father make the room a baby's room?!
Before he could figure it out, Katie slipped into the room through the crack of the door.
Sadly, Joey was too late to stop her. Katie had already run away.
ALL he could do now was to watch her swagger into the room.
Apparently, the noise coming from the door alarmed Victor.
Immediately, he turned around and saw Katie at a glance. Based on his memory, he had closed that door. And even though Katie enjoyed running around, she wasn't clever enough to turn the doorknob and open the door.
Victor glanced at the door.
There was an opening, just wide enough for one person to enter.
However, there was nobody at the door.
Just as Victor's eyes turned dim, Katie had already walked to his feet. She rubbed against his ankle, and then she lay on the floor, oblivious to her master's emotional state.
Victor squinted, squatted down, and gently stroked Katie's head. His eyes were like hollow pits, making it impossible to read his mind.
Failing to stop Katie, Joey turned around and ran towards the guest room like the wind.
But the second he arrived, he bumped into Lukas, who was just coming out.
"Joey?" Noticing that the boy was in a hurry, Lukas was confused.
“Where have you been?"
"I uh. Joey didn't think that he'd bump into Lukas. After pondering for a few seconds, he composed himself and explained, "I wanted to go to the bathroom, but the toilet was clogged, so I went to another bathroom."
Lukas seemed doubtful of the boy's explanation.
“Is the toilet really clogged?"
Joey nodded in response, appearing to be serious. Lukas eyed him up and down, and thought that the boy wasn't lying.
“I see. I'll ask the servant to go there later and unclog the toilet."
“Okay," said Joey.
