Chapter: 741
Suddenly, she had tasted something salty on her tongue. When she came to her senses, tears were streaming down her face.
She suddenly realized that she didn't want Victor to die.
Over the last four years, she had plotted countless times how she would exact vengeance on him, to make him pay for Abby's death, and to punish him for everything else he had done. But it now occurred to her that she had never intended for Victor to die in any of her plans.
"Don't you want to know who I am, Victor? If you die here today, you will never find out who I am," Rachel said in a hoarse voice as she pressed her lips together.
He still didn't respond. The room was filled with only her sobs.
"Victor, are you listening to me?!" Rachel raised her voice.
"Open your eyes! Stay with me! You want to know if I'm really Rachel, don't you? Look at me! I'm going to cast this mask away and tell you who I am. Do you hear what I'm saying?"
Tears started blurring Rachel's vision and a heavy sense of helplessness rose in her heart.
She clenched her teeth and her eyes were bloodshot.
“I haven't been able to kill you with my own hands and get revenge for Abby. You can't die like this, you hear me? I said, wake up! Open your eyes,
Victor!"
"0... Okay." Suddenly, a weak voice was heard.
Victor's feeble hand made a small movement. Rachel's body instantly stiffened as she sensed it. She couldn't believe what she had heard and called out, "Victor?"
"Yes. Didn't you say you haven't killed me with your own hands yet?
Then...I have to stay alive for you to do it." Victor chuckled helplessly.
Rachel was taken aback, but Dr. Turner arrived quickly before she could respond.
Soon, Victor was picked up by the nurses and was quickly brought into the bedroom. The wound on his back needed to be treated right away.
Seeing the bedroom door closing, Rachel felt her strength washing away. She leaned against the wall but soon slid down to the floor.
She waited for what it seemed like forever. The bedroom door flung open. Ivan walked out and approached her, giving her a puzzled look.
Until now, he still couldn't believe that the woman in front of him was Rachel. The woman who had been dead for four years.
He had personally witnessed her body being dragged out from the water back then. He wasn't sure how this was possible.
"Miss Bennet," called Ivan in a low voice.
Rachel gradually regained her composure and stood up.
"Now that Mr.
Sullivan is no longer in danger, I think I should leave."
