Chapter: 742
Her mind was still a mess and she needed to sort it out quietly.
Joey was taken to somewhere safe after the man was shot by the security here, and it seemed that she wouldn't be able to take him with her today.
It might actually be safer to let Joey stay with Victor for now.
After some thinking, Rachel turned to leave.
"Miss Bennet, Mr. Sullivan wants to see you," Ivan remarked as she took a step forward.
Rachel came to a halt and turned to face Ivan. After a moment of silence, she looked at the door of the bedroom.
“Mr. Sullivan said that if you don't go in, he will not receive any treatment," Ivan added.
Hearing this made Rachel frown.
“Is he trying to threaten me with his own life?"
Ivan could only look at her in silence.
After noticing the way Ivan stared at her, Rachel immediately understood that Victor wasn't joking and he would really do such a thing.
She clenched her fists and caught a glimpse of the blood on her fingertips.
"Fine. I'll go with you."
Rachel followed Ivan with her head down.
When she pushed the bedroom door open, Dr. Turner had already prepared everything and only waited for Victor's consent to treat him.
When Rachel walked right in, she saw that Victor's face was ghastly pale, as if he was about to die any second.
Rachel was at a loss for words when it came to him. Did he really not care about his own life at all?
How could he threaten her with his life even in this situation?
He never changed at all.
Hearing the noise, Victor slowly opened his eyes, but Rachel didn't look at him.
"Dr. Turner, help him now," she said.
Dr. Turner remembered the phone call he had just gotten from his mentor. He gazed at Rachel for a moment before moving on to Victor.
He wouldn't dare to do anything without Victor's permission.
"Come here," Victor said, looking at Rachel.
Rachel narrowed her eyes but didn't move.
