Chapter: 814
But since Tammy now knew he was Odin's son, and her daughter was going to marry Victor, it meant that if Susan couldn't give birth to a boy after marrying into the Sullivan family, Joey would be the biggest detriment for Susan's child to inherit the Sullivan Group in the future.
This was a good enough reason for Joey to be wary of Tammy's enthusiasm for him.
‘It's better to be safe than sorry,’ he thought.
"Good boy, come here and sit down. I'm not sure what you like to eat, but I know most kids like sweets. I've already asked people to prepare cake for you. Do you want to try some?" Tammy smiled at him gently before trying to hold the boy's hand.
Joey avoided her hand and glanced at the cake on the table. His eyes glinted under the light.
The woman had given her some clothes, and now she was offering him some cake. He refused to believe that she had no ulterior motives.
“Sure.” Joey sat down obediently and began to eat the cake using a spoon.
He didn't worry too much regarding the food. After all, no matter how much Tammy disliked him, she probably wouldn't be stupid enough to poison him right now.
“Kid," Tammy muttered as she sat down near Joey.
Meanwhile, Joey continued eating the slice of cake with a smirk on his face.
‘Looks like she's about to reveal her true intentions,’ he remarked inwardly.
Holding back his smile, he looked up at Tammy, appearing to be confused.
"Yes?" he asked.
"Is the cake delicious?" Tammy asked.
"It's not bad," said the boy.
"If you like it, I'LL ask my people to buy some more and give it to you later, okay?"
"Is that okay? My mommy said that I shouldn't be accepting stuff from strangers." Joey tried to make himself look like he was eager to have more cake yet conflicted about it.
Upon seeing his reaction, Tammy said, “I'm not a stranger. I'm going to be your grandma pretty soon!"
Joey tilted his head, his eyes were wide open, and he was visibly confused.
"Grandma?"
“That's right! My daughter is going to marry your uncle in the near future. You can call me your grandma then." When Tammy said that, she paid attention to Joey's expression in order to confirm his identity.
After taking too bites of cake, Joey locked eyes with Tammy. Upon hearing her response, a thought crossed his mind.
Her motive for giving him cake was to loosen his tongue.
"You're saying that you're not a stranger, so I can accept the cake, right?" asked Joey.
"Of course, dear." Tammy grinned at him.
