Norah elaborated, “The poison isn't potent and is hard to detect. It induces a coma and gradually deteriorates the patient's body, leading to eventual death. From the time of poisoning to death, it typically takes about eight years."

Norah's revelation startled the Boyds. Considering Nyla had been bedridden for five years, this implied she had only three years left to Live.
