Chapter: 1137
Jaxson, still living in Sean's house, felt a bit awkward witnessing the Scotts' arguments.

Kayla finished her bite and glared at Sean. “Here we are enjoying our meal while Nancy is so distressed upstairs. Just thinking about her pains me. Sean, you owe us and Nancy an explanation and a solution."

Sean slowly set his fork down and dabbed his mouth with a napkin.

His expression was as icy as his stare.

"A solution? What exactly do you want from me? To marry Nancy? That's precisely what you're aiming for, right?"

"I don't want it! I wish to stay by my mom's side always. Even if Sean did what he did to me, I wouldn't leave her."

A steady yet soft voice echoed from the staircase. Nancy, clad in a white dress, stood at the stairs, looking demure and charming.

She approached Sean, clutching her dress with a nervous demeanor.

“Sean, I apologize. I was unaware of last night's events until my mother informed me."

Nancy was so anxious that her words came out as stutters.

“Perhaps due to the drugs, my actions and words were not truly my own. It's entirely my fault for causing trouble. Sean, I admire you. In the past, when I was alone, I was constantly bullied. I used to wish for a brother, and it seems God answered my prayers by giving me the best mother and brother."

When Nancy lifted her gaze, her eyes brimmed with tears.

“I don't desire anything material. I simply wish to remain by Mom's side. Sean, please don't send me away.”

Nancy continued to apologize humbly.

Nancy's words tugged at Kayla's heartstrings. She understood that Nancy was an endearing girl and that her actions were influenced by drugs. Perhaps Sean had even coerced Nancy into those actions.

"Nancy, do not be frightened. If Sean truly coerced you, just tell us. We will support you."

In reality, aside from Kayla, the others were quite indifferent towards Nancy.

Kayla comforted Nancy softly while maintaining a harsh attitude towards Sean.

The display by Kayla and Nancy didn't alter Sean's expression in the least.

Sean gazed at Nancy with a cold, unfeeling look.

"I will say this one final time. Nancy, I don't care about your other intentions. Just stay by my mom's side and ensure her happiness. I won't expel you. Don't entertain any inappropriate thoughts."

Sean then addressed Kayla, "Mom, I am your son. Do you really think so poorly of me? Is this the type of person you believe me to be? Lastly, I need you to refrain from interfering in my marriage. Simply give me your blessings."

After those words, Sean stood up and departed, disregarding the reactions of those at the table.

Jaxson secretly gave a thumbs-up to Sean's retreating figure.
