Chapter: 1618
Caught off guard by this unexpected question, Matteo stammered. "What?"
The® sidea of Norah attending calligraphy lessons was perplexing. Wasn't she preoccupied with managing her newly acquired hospital?
"Well..." Matteo hesitated.
"Have you seen Norah's handwriting?" Waldo posed another question.
Matteo nodded and pulled out his phone to show a photo. "When I saw Norah write this, she told me she has learned from you."
Waldo studied the handwriting with approval and nodded. "Yes, that's her handwriting; impeccable as always."
Returning the phone to Matteo, he continued, "Norah was my student for just over a month. She was exceptionally dedicated. I often encouraged her to pursue further studies with me. However, she seemed preoccupied with other matters and couldn't devote her full attention, so I had to let her go."
Matteo was astonished. Norah had only learned from Waldo for just one month? Was it truly possible to attain such proficiency in merely a month?
This revelation made him feel somewhat inadequate, having practiced for years without similar success.
"Is it really possible to master calligraphy to such an extent in just a month?" Matteo voiced his doubts.
Waldo explained, "Her handwriting was already exquisite before she started her lessons with me. She was diligent, consistently applying what she learned in her daily activities, which significantly improved her skills. She's adaptable, not stubborn, which greatly contributed to her swift improvement."
Matteo considered how Norah indeed embodied the trait of adaptability, unlike those who resist change.
"I genuinely admire Norah's talent," Waldo continued. "It seems her excellence extends beyond calligraphy to other areas as well."
Matteo nodded in agreement. “Indeed, she was a doctor previously and now excels as a hospital director."
Waldo was taken aback by the extent of Norah's career achievements. "She's a hospital director now? That's truly impressive. Norah is remarkable in everything she pursues."
He then refocused on the present and exhaled deeply. "Considering she has her own ambitions, I won't pressure her to continue her studies with me. I haven't taken on a student in a long time, but for Norah's sake, I will mentor you. Would you like that?"
Matteo, momentarily surprised by the offer, replied with enthusiasm, "Yes, absolutely!"
He was more than ready to have a mentor, which was a significant upgrade from practicing calligraphy alone at home. And he was elated, recognizing the remarkable capabilities of his future daughter-in-law.
"Rest assured, Mr. Blake, I am very eager to learn calligraphy." Matteo stood and bowed respectfully.
The guidance of a teacher like Waldo was crucial, and since Matteo intended to continue his calligraphy practice, Waldo's involvement was invaluable!
Norah remained oblivious to the high regard Sean's father held for her. Their itinerary was set: to drive home after enjoying an early dinner that afternoon.
On their final day, each couple chose a different activity, delighting in their individual freedoms.
The resort featured co-ed hot springs, and Sean had reserved one early in the day, taking Norah along for a relaxing bath.
They intended to fully enjoy the experience.
