Chapter: 237
Sean gently comforted Susanna, "It's okay. I'm here."
Trying to ease Susanna's fears, Sean softened his usual stern demeanor with a tender voice.
Norah suddenly felt a sting of jealousy. Sean's arrival had thrown her emotions into disarray.
Norah couldn't shake the image of Susanna as a pampered princess, raised in a world of love and care, while she had always battled alone without knowing such warmth.
Reflecting on her one attempt at seizing happiness that ended in disappointment, Norah looked down and announced, "Sean, since you're here, I'll leave Susanna to you. I should head home."
As Norah started to walk away, Sean caught her arm, stopping her.
Norah gave him a puzzled look.
Sean's eyes locked on hers, filled with a profound intensity. "I'll drive you all home."
Norah smiled, presented her car keys, and said, “Alright. Don't forget to ask Phillip to bring my car back."
Sean caught the keys and tossed them to Phillip. He then departed with Susanna and Norah.
Phillip played with the car keys and sneered, “Have you thought about how you will die?"
Frieda was visibly shaken, struggling to grip her phone. “What are you planning?"
Phillip advanced toward Bart, delivered a kick to his head, and then brutally stomped on him. "Take a wild guess at my next move."
Once they were in the car, Susanna couldn't stop her tears. “Sean, that was terrifying. Norah ended up intoxicated, and those guys were up to no good. Thankfully, Norah snapped out of it and kicked Bart to the ground, and then you arrived..."
Sean's gaze shifted to Norah in the rearview mirror, touching her forehead, pondering whether her earlier texts to him were heartfelt or merely part of some ploy.
"I've reminded you countless times to have a bodyguard whenever you're out. Can you rely on luck like this every time? Having Norah by your side today was a stroke of luck," Sean sternly warned.
Susanna's heart sank at Sean's reprimand. “How was I to guess my high school classmates would behave like that? I was never one to stand out at school, so there's no way they could have known who I am."
Norah chimed in, "Sean, Susanna's been through enough tonight.
Perhaps now's not the time for lectures. Let her get some rest at home. We can always talk things over tomorrow."
Sean glanced over, spotting Susanna in the passenger seat, eyes brimming with tears, lips pursed.
"I'm worried about her. No need for tears. I'll get you home first.
Grab some rest."
After dropping Susanna off, Sean and Norah headed to the Dreamview Villas.
“Norah, recall what went down?" Sean asked.
