Chapter: 109
“Investigate their connection. Miguel hasn't been around long; how did he manage to recruit Lilliana to his side?" Alan instructed.
Now that he had decided to delve deeper, he would uncover everything.
Alan remained seated outside Kaitlin's hospital room, steadfast in his decision not to leave.
It was only when Kaitlin awoke that Phoebe emerged.
“Why are you still here?" she demanded.
Alan looked up, determination in his eyes. "I've uncovered the evidence. I need to see Kaitlin."
Phoebe scoffed, clearly annoyed, "This is a hospital. If you distress her again and she passes out, I'll make sure she gets an abortion!"
Alan rose, taking a calming breath. "Don't worry, I'll tread Lightly."
Reluctantly, Phoebe moved aside. "Fine, go in, but I'll be keeping an eye on you."
Alan then entered the room. Kaitlin lay in bed, staring vacantly out the window, her expression one of profound disappointment.
It appeared she had believed Lilliana's tale of pregnancy. Her evident sorrow suggested lingering feelings for him, didn't it?
A flicker of hope warmed Alan's heart as he approached the bedside.
“Kaitlin, I need to explain everything," he said gently.
Kaitlin remained silent, her gaze fixed on the world outside, ignoring him.
Alan didn't hesitate any longer and showed her his phone to present the evidence he had gathered. "Lilliana and I never has been intimate. I was only looking out for her on Ashley's behalf," he explained earnestly.
Kaitlin briefly glanced at the evidence but still wouldn't meet Alan's eyes.
"Get out."
Kaitlin's expression was unreadable, her disbelief evident.
At that moment, Alan's phone buzzed with a startling new message.
"Lilliana was Miguel's lover. Kaitlin, how could you think I'm involved with her?"
Alan handed his phone to Kaitlin once more. She took a quick glance and suddenly tensed.
The screen showed Lilliana visiting Miguel's residence late into the night.
Kaitlin scrutinized the evidence intently.
The proof was undeniable. Lilliana was indeed involved with Miguel.
