Chapter: 110
"Now do you see the truth? Lilliana isn't even pregnant. She and Miguel concocted this scheme to turn you against me. Miguel masterminded my parents' tragic accident. He will face my wrath in due time," Alan declared, a fierce look on his face.
Kaitlin returned the phone. "Regardless, it's no longer my concern. We are divorced, after all."
She was determined not to be drawn back into the Hewitt family's drama, focusing instead on her career.
“Kaitlin, I'm desperate. You're the only one who can aid me now. We must make Miguel pay!"
Her heart softened slightly. She knew the bitter enmity between Alan and his uncle.
"What exactly do you need from me?" she asked.
"Stand with me, Kaitlin. Ignore their lies."
She hesitated, then slowly shook her head.
"Kaitlin, if Miguel has his way, he'll ruin me. He's relentless. If anything happens to me, your child will be fatherless."
A flicker of concern crossed Kaitlin's eyes. For her child's sake, she reluctantly agreed. “Just this once, Alan."
His face lit up. "I promise, Kaitlin. From now on, I'll take good care of both you and our child.”
With a heavy sigh, Kaitlin's resolve wavered.
Together, they resolved to confront Miguel once and for all.
Just then, Lilliana got a call from Miguel.
“You've surprised me, Lilliana. You managed that situation quite adeptly."
A wave of relief washed over her; she was out of danger at last.
"Miguel, what's my next move?" she asked.
"Break the news to my mom that you're pregnant. She has been longing for a great-grandchild."
Memories of Beth's stern warnings flashed through Lilliana's mind, stirring up anxiety. "Mrs. Hewitt will never welcome me. She... she's never liked me."
“As long as you're carrying the child, it'll work out. Trust me, I know my mother. Just go ahead."
With a nervous bite of her lip, Lilliana consented.
Success in this endeavor meant a life of unimaginable wealth with the Hewitt family.
Without another moment's hesitation, she slipped into a form-fitting dress that accentuated her belly and made her way to the Hewitt family's estate.
Beth initially refused to meet her, but the buzz on social media eventually swayed her.
