Chapter: 133
"No mix-up. It's all intended for Miss Willis, complete with assorted pastries."

While the receptionist processed this, Ashley approached in her high heels. “I'm Miss Willis. Thank you so much."

She took a coffee and some pastries, and offered them to the receptionist. “Thank you for assisting me. It's my first day, and this is just a small gesture of gratitude."

Ashley's demeanor was friendly and unpretentious. "Would you mind letting the other departments know? They're welcome to come and collect some treats."

The goodies were already arranged in portions, ready for easy distribution.

"You bought all of this?"

The receptionist's eyes widened in disbelief. She had never encountered such a generous gesture from a coworker before.

"I hope everyone enjoys it. It's not easy catering to different tastes," Ashley remarked, her smile broadening as she picked up a cup of coffee and made her way upstairs.

Once the crowd dispersed, the receptionist sampled the coffee and pastries. They were exceptionally good, far from the usual fare, which made her realize these weren't sourced from any ordinary bakery.

She glanced at the brand and then at the laden table, her surprise morphing into shock.

Could this mean they had a new, affluent employee in their midst?

The news about Ashley, the new employee who hosted an afternoon tea for everyone, spread like wildfire. Her departmental colleagues were quick to recall her kindness and gathered to express their gratitude.

Curiosity drew other employees from different departments as well.

They were eager to catch a glimpse of the enigmatic newcomer.

With her delicate features and constant smile, coupled with her designer attire, Ashley certainly looked the part of a wealthy heiress, sparking further rumors.

As some colleagues grew more acquainted with her, questions naturally followed.

"Ashley, where were you working before? How did you find yourself here?"

Ashley leaned forward, resting her chin on her hands, her expression blending innocence with a touch of naivety.

“I was overseas. After coming back to Osewood, I wanted some local experience. Alan mentioned..."

She paused and playfully stuck out her tongue, as if she had let slip more than intended.

Her colleagues exchanged knowing glances, and the air between them subtly shifted.

"Anyway, I'm looking forward to working well with all of you," she continued.

The afternoon passed pleasantly for the group. It being Ashley's first day, her schedule was light.

As the day wound down, the department manager summoned her to the office.
