Chapter: 170
Ashley seized Megan's wrist, yanking her toward the restroom with unexpected strength.
Megan let out a startled yelp. “Ashley, have you lost your mind? I was only kidding! What are you doing?"
“I'm giving you a taste of your own medicine. Fair's fair, right?"
Ashley's smile twisted into something more menacing, sending a chill through Megan.
"Someone help me!"
Megan's plea drew the attention of several coworkers.
They hurried over, ostensibly to intervene. Despite their pretense of neutrality, it was clear they favored Megan, with some even pushing Ashley away.
Outnumbered, Ashley struggled but was ultimately overpowered and ended up on the floor.
The noise brought the manager out of his office.
“What's all this commotion about? It's too early for this kind of trouble! Are you all here to work or not?"
Following a stern lecture from the manager, the crowd dispersed, and Megan seized the opportunity to cast herself as the aggrieved party.
"Ashley just lost it and came at me. Everyone was just trying to help."
Megan appeared unruffled, her attire pristine, while Ashley sat disheveled on the floor, her hair and makeup in disarray.
It was obvious who the real victim was.
However, remembering Ashley's past behavior, the manager was reluctant to step in.
“Everyone, back to work now! I don't want any more disturbances. If anyone else causes trouble, they can pack up and leave. Enough is enough!"
The manager huffed dismissively and retreated into his office, clearly uninterested in defending Ashley.
Megan and her friends turned to look at Ashley, snickering.
"You should just quit, Ashley. This is way too humiliating."
“And pretending to be some rich girl or the boss's girlfriend, then getting caught? It's just shameful."
“Don't you have any dignity left? At your age, still lost in your fantasies?"
Ashley rose from the floor, her icy stare gradually silencing them.
"Just wait and see."
Seething, she grabbed her bag and stormed out of the office.
