Chapter: 175
When Ashley got the invitation, everyone in the department perked up, curious and eager to hear more.

As soon as Dylan exited, colleagues swarmed around, itching for details.

"A high-class banquet and you snagged an invite? That's amazing! I'm so jealous!"

Ashley responded with a smile, slipping the invitation into her purse, “It's all thanks to that last project. Mr. Lowe's just showing his appreciation."

Heeding lessons from previous blunders, Ashley opted for a cautious approach.

She informed her boss, using the upcoming banquet as a reason to clock out early.

Once outside the office, she caught a taxi and directed it towards Miguel's lavish villa.

Miguel, positioned in his wheelchair and holding a wine glass, welcomed her warmly. "You've done well this time," he commended.

Ashley offered a modest smile in return. "So, Felix's partnership with you is solid now, right? But Alan is a tough one to handle, so stay on your toes. What's the reason for calling me here today?"

Miguel pulled a packet from his pocket and handed it over to Ashley.

“This will give you the edge you need. As a secretary, your hands are tied. But close to Alan, you'll have access to all the secrets.”

Taking the packet, Ashley's eyes sparkled with anticipation. “I'll put it to good use. Thank you."

Miguel toasted her with his glass. "Your dress is ready. Aim true. Once you bear Alan's child, he'll be yours to command."

Ashley filled her glass, her fiery red lips more striking than the wine, her gaze fierce with resolve. "Don't worry. I won't let you down tonight."

The grand banquet unfolded at the illustrious Eden Manor, hosted by Felix, who spent the evening engaging with his guests.

Ashley made a fashionably late entrance, maintaining a cautious distance from Felix.

Her gown caught eyes yet cleverly remained unobtrusive under the lights, glowing subtly in less illuminated corners.

She picked up a champagne flute and retreated to a secluded corner, avoiding undue attention.

When Alan appeared, she saw her opportunity.

He was deep in conversation with Felix as she approached. "Good evening, Mr. Lowe, Mr. Hewitt."

"Oh, Miss Willis, did you just get here?"

Ashley replied, "I got here earlier, but it was so crowded and you seemed preoccupied, so I didn't want to interrupt," she explained.

"Miss Willis, you look absolutely breathtaking tonight," Felix complimented, his gaze lingering on Ashley a bit too intently.

Ashley, foreseeing such a reaction from Felix, subtly positioned herself closer to Alan.
