Chapter: 199
"Just let her know that Alan has been wonderfully supportive, handling my ex-husband and even offering his home to me," Ashley explained, her voice dripping with contempt. “Handle it however you see fit. The main thing is to ensure Kaitlin gets the wrong impression about Alan."
Lilliana paused, uncertainty in her tone. "Kaitlin won't even see me. They'll stop me at the front desk."
The rivalry between Lilliana Jewelry and Oasis Jewelry was well-known, a significant feud that many still recalled.
Wasn't this request a bit excessive?
“You fool! Can't you come up with something?" Ashley snapped.
Lilliana bit her Lip, knowing better than to argue further. “Fine, I'll figure something out."
After ending the call, Lilliana made her way to Oasis Studio. As expected, she was halted by the receptionist immediately upon entering.
"Miss, do you have an appointment?"
Lilliana, donning large sunglasses and tilting her head slightly, remained unrecognizable. “Don't you recognize me? I've recently placed a big order! I need to see Kaitlin now. Either bring me to her, or forget about the order!"
Seemingly unnerved by Lilliana's forceful presence, the receptionist promptly made her way to Kaitlin's office to brief her on the situation.
As Kaitlin glanced up, her expression turned to one of confusion.
"What's her name? Which major client is she representing?" she inquired.
The receptionist shook her head, clearly unsure. "She didn't specify. Only mentioned a significant order and was quite... forceful."
Understanding the awkward position the receptionist was in, Kaitlin nodded. "Send her in. I can manage to meet now.”
"Alright."
Moments later, Lilliana strode confidently into Kaitlin's office.
Taking a seat, she was met with Kaitlin's light-hearted chuckle.
“Lilliana? It's been a long time. I had no idea you were connected to us like this."
Caught in her pretense, Lilliana removed her sunglasses and surveyed the room, her envy barely concealed. “Who would have thought you'd be so successful?" she remarked, a tinge of sarcasm in her tone.
Kaitlin, unfazed, took a leisurely sip of water before responding, “I'm surprised to see you looking so worn. Isn't it a bit embarrassing to masquerade as a major client in such an outdated outfit?"
The remark clearly stung Lilliana, as her face twitched with discomfort.
"Kaitlin, you bitch! You ruined everything for me!" Lilliana snapped.
"I don't have time for your drama. What do you want today?" Kaitlin glanced at her, already guessing her intentions.
She figured Lilliana had come to stir up trouble.
