Chapter: 248
"Kaitlin, what do you mean?"

"I... I just remembered something. Shawn has a tattoo on his neck too, but I couldn't clearly make out its shape."

Alan's expression darkened, a hint of jealousy tinting his tone.

“You've seen Shawn's tattoo?"

“Don't sound Like that," Kaitlin retorted, her tone firm yet calm.

“It was only during a work meeting. His shirt button was loose, and I just happened to see it. I vaguely recall a tattoo there.”

Kaitlin pouted. "Didn't you say Shawn was a complicated guy? I've been watching him more closely since then. Get it?"

Alan nodded, his mind replaying the recent altercation.

The masked man did share Shawn's stature and build.

But he doubted Shawn was the one who had assaulted him.

“Look, Alan, I'm just throwing out a guess here. Shawn's the heir to the Murphy Group. It'd be odd if he were straightforward. You can't just suspect him based on that, right?"

Kaitlin had stopped questioning Shawn's character after the launch event, and now she found herself defending him.

Alan snorted sharply, "Checking if the tattoo is his is simple enough. We'll figure it out soon."

Kaitlin didn't retort. Instead, she changed the topic, her voice dripping with sarcasm. "Since you didn't catch Owen, isn't it riskier out there now? Aren't you worried about your sweetheart being in danger?"

Alan sighed and put the sketch away. “I'll sort this out fast. Just stay here where it's safe. If you have to go out, let my guys cover you, okay?"

Alan was becoming wiser, choosing to overlook Kaitlin's digs at Ashley to prevent further disputes.

Predictably, Kaitlin snorted and dismissed him with a wave, heading downstairs.

She relished the carefree lifestyle here. Alan's place was a fortress of safety, offering her total peace of mind.

She settled into a few episodes of her favorite series on the couch before Alan departed for his office.

Alan's villa was so expansive that it heightened her sense of isolation.

Phoebe called to discuss the possibility of extending their partnership with the Murphy Group.

"Mr. Murphy stopped by the studio today. Since he didn't catch you, he spoke with me instead. He's proposing that we host a jewelry exhibition abroad. What do you think?"

“Abroad? A jewelry exhibition?" Kaitlin perked up, her excitement palpable.

This presented a golden opportunity to capitalize on the Murphy Group's prestige to penetrate global markets.
