Chapter: 28
Even the potential fallout from the revelations was clearly specified.

"Miss Willis, do we need to inform Mr. Hewitt? Should he deal with this?" the assistant suggested.

Lilliana's fury intensified. "Fool! Do you expect me to tell Alan that all my designs are copies?"

She was desperate to preserve her reputation in Alan's eyes and couldn't afford to let him discover these sordid details.

Realizing the gravity of the situation, the assistant opted to remain silent, deciding it was safer to say nothing more to avoid further rebukes.

“Why are you still here? Get on with finding out who sent these messages! Anonymous, really? If they're brave enough to send them, they should be brave enough to own up to it!" Lilliana snapped.

The assistant muttered an acknowledgment and hurried away.

Lilliana glared at her reflection in the mirror, her expression seething with rage.

She had intended to dress up and join Alan for lunch, but now she found herself utterly disinterested.

Moments later, her phone buzzed with yet another anonymous message.

"Pay ten million, and I'll keep the materials to myself. You have two days to get the money together, or it's all over."

Swearing under her breath, Lilliana hurled her phone against the wall, shattering its screen-a clear testament to her fury.

If the plagiarism accusations came to light, her carefully crafted persona as a genius designer would crumble.

She wasn't ready to relinquish the accolades she had yet to fully enjoy.

But ten million? The figure was staggering.

Meanwhile, Three Drops spent the entire day waiting for a response, though he remained unfazed by the silence.

He knew Lilliana, desperate to preserve her status, would cave to his demands eventually.

He texted Kaitlin to confirm everything was in place and that they only needed to await the transfer.

They had decided on a sixty-forty split of the ten million. Three Drops would set up an offshore account to keep the transaction untraceable and secure.

Kaitlin simply responded with a “deal” and began to anticipate the influx of funds.

Two days later, the ten million was deposited into the offshore account, right on schedule.

Lilliana had to drain nearly all her personal savings to meet the amount since her recent earnings hadn't been substantial.

This left her in a sour mood for several days, casting a pall over her studio.

She also kept her distance from Alan during this period, giving HIM a much-needed break.
