Chapter: 280
Ashley said, her tone playfully scolding as her fingers accidentally brushed against the back of his hand.
Ashley believed she had a chance with him, but Alan rose abruptly and moved toward the window.
"What's the matter?" he asked indifferently.
Caught off guard, Ashley momentarily froze before quickly regaining her composure. She approached and gently tugged at the edge of Alan's shirt.
"A lot has been going on lately. I know I messed up." Her voice trembled, nearly breaking with emotion.
“From now on, I'll do better, Alan. I plan to review some old project files. Could you authorize my access to those materials?"
Ashley spoke, hopeful.
Alan's expression hardened. “Just handle your own tasks."
Before Ashley could respond, Alan's icy gaze cut her off.
Feeling as though he could see right through her, she found no words to counter.
Quickly, she made up an excuse and hurried away.
With her departure, the office returned to silence. Glancing at his watch, Alan stood and left the building without another word.
A Maybach was parked right outside Oasis Studio.
Stepping out, Alan immediately drew the attention of onlookers.
"Is Kaitlin around?" he inquired softly, yet authoritatively.
The woman Alan approached appeared stunned but eventually nodded.
"Yes, Kaitlin is in her office," she replied.
Alan nodded in return and made his way to Kaitlin's office door.
He gently pushed it open to find Kaitlin absorbed in her painting at the desk.
The midday sunlight filtered through the blinds, casting a radiant glow that illuminated her side profile.
For a moment, Alan found himself captivated, unwilling to look away.
It wasn't until Kaitlin Looked up and noticed him that the spell was broken.
“Why are you here?" she asked, her tone laced with surprise.
Alan, snapping back to reality, awkwardly adjusted his tie. “I'm here to join you for lunch," he responded, gesturing towards the clock.
