Chapter: 300
Marcia was merely an employee at Denton's company, and they weren't well-acquainted.

Denton finished speaking and turned to leave.

However, Marcia wasn't ready to let it go and approached him. "Mr. Gilbert, do you also think my work wasn't good enough? But I've tried my best. I didn't expect Kay to comment so harshly."

Denton stepped back, growing more irritated and uncomfortable with her being close to him.

“She wasn't being strict. You need to spend more time reflecting on your own performance."

Marcia's strong perfume was somewhat overpowering to Denton.

Marcia's expression stiffened. Clearly, she hadn't anticipated Denton's harsh response.

"Is there anything else you need to say? If not, please feel free to leave."

Marcia pressed her lips together, hesitating to confront Denton.

Meanwhile, Kaitlin came out of the dressing room.

Denton approached and welcomed Kaitlin and Alan. "Do you have any plans for tonight? I heard from Kaitlin that this is her first visit to Estresa. How about I take you out for dinner?" he offered.

Alan glanced their way and said, "No, thank you. I've already made dinner reservations."

Kaitlin noticed the awkwardness and tried to ease the situation. "Mr. Gilbert, perhaps another time. Alan has arranged dinner already. Thanks for your offer, though."

Acknowledging this, Denton nodded and said, “Alright, we'll discuss business another time."

“Sure, see you later." Kaitlin then walked away with Alan, arm in arm.

Standing still, Denton fixed his eyes on their retreating figures.

In reality, he had no ulterior motives; he simply wanted to befriend Kaitlin, given her striking resemblance to the Gilbert family.

Marcia, watching the interaction with a cold expression, felt both unwilling and resentful.

Having worked for Gilbert Jewelry for years, she had never seen Denton show such courtesy to any woman.

Was Kaitlin really that charming?

"Marcia, here's the update." Her assistant hesitated, wary of revealing the news. "And the comments online..."

"What are they?" Marcia's tone grew impatient, prompting her to snatch the assistant's phone directly.

"Let me read it." Marcia's expression darkened as she read the online comments.

“Estresa's rising designer, Marcia Hanson, was criticized during the competition. She was expected to excel but ended up playing a supporting role."
