Chapter: 301
While many of her fans rallied to her defense, the majority of online commenters disagreed.
"Stop making excuses for Marcia. We've seen her capabilities in the first round."
“Do you think you know more than Kay? Do you?"
"Marcia is not that talented. It's all just Brooks Jewelry's marketing. Her true skill was exposed the moment she entered the competition."
“From this, it's clear that Kay is truly fair and bold.”
“It's Kay again!" Marcia seethed with resentment.
She had hoped to advance her career through this competition. But, unexpectedly, it backfired.
“Marcia, try to calm down. Let's head back and focus on preparing for the second round of the competition," her assistant advised, visibly nervous.
They were backstage. It would be problematic if Marcia couldn't keep her emotions in check and was caught on camera.
With the current negative online comments, Marcia couldn't afford another mistake.
Marcia took a few deep breaths to calm her agitation. “Let's go."
Kaitlin didn't know what was happening on the Internet. All she knew was that she was feeling quite tired.
Once in the car, she leaned against Alan's shoulder and closed her eyes to rest.
Alan sighed softly and expressed his concern. “Are you tired? Maybe you shouldn't have accepted this invitation."
Kaitlin yawned and said in a relaxed tone, "No, I just need some rest."
“What about that Denton guy?" Alan asked.
“Now you've lost me", Kaitlin responded, not bothering opening her eyes.
Alan snorted, clearly annoyed. "You seem to have just met him, yet he appears very eager to win your favor."
Kaitlin chuckled. "You're getting jealous again. He's younger than me; he just wants to discuss business."
Alan nodded and refrained from further questioning.
Upon reaching the restaurant, Kaitlin finally opened her eyes and was instantly amazed by the view outside.
The restaurant was located by the sea. Standing near the window, she could hear the ocean waves, creating a romantic atmosphere.
"It's so lovely here!" she remarked.
Seeing that Kaitlin was happy, Alan couldn't help smiling. “I've heard the food here is excellent too."
