Chapter: 320
He joined Kaitlin and Denton for dinner, allowing them to discuss their collaborative prospects without interruption.
Kaitlin and Denton were in high spirits as they chatted throughout the meal. By the time they had finished, they had agreed on terms for future collaboration.
“Mr. Gilbert, let's pencil in something for next week. I need to go back and get everything ready," Kaitlin said.
“I'm eager for our next discussion," Denton replied, nodding in agreement.
After leaving the restaurant, Kaitlin and Alan made their way back together. During the drive, Kaitlin called Phoebe to brief her on the new partnership and urged her to start preparations.
Once Kaitlin ended the call, Alan leaned closer, resting his head gently against her shoulder.
“You've been all about work today. Any chance you might stay here a bit longer?" he said.
Kaitlin shook her head. "There's still a ton to sort out back in Osewood. But what about you? Do you want to extend your stay?"
Alan let out a soft sigh. "I was hoping to spend a few days just with you.”
Kaitlin laughed, her voice light. "Haven't we already spent these past days together? Isn't that enough?"
"It's never enough," Alan murmured, his tone tender.
Kaitlin felt a flutter in her chest at his words.
"With all the demands of the Hewitt Group, you're busier than I am."
Turning slightly, she kissed Alan on the cheek. "Let's not dwell on the sighs. We'll find our time."
Alan's response was a gentle smile.
The finals were scheduled for tomorrow.
Kaitlin already knew the winner.
The competition was fair, with no manipulation, and Kaitlin was thrilled about it.
Ernesto seemed to be a man of integrity.
After the finals, Ernesto hosted a celebration party and invited both Alan and Kaitlin.
Alan accepted the invitation and joined Kaitlin at the party.
The party atmosphere was lively, and Alan and Kaitlin stuck together the entire time.
Denton arrived a bit late. He exchanged a few words with Ernesto before heading straight to Kaitlin.
"I heard you're heading back tomorrow. Why the rush?" Denton said.
