Chapter: 321
Kaitlin responded, "I have lots to handle back in Osewood. I'd love to stay and explore, but time's short."
Denton raised her eyebrows. "You're quite the powerhouse, aren't you?"
"Thanks," Kaitlin responded.
Alan frowned. Although Denton didn't cross a line, but seeing Kaitlin and him so close still made him somewhat jealous.
"Kaitlin, maybe we should head back early," Alan interjected.
Kaitlin glanced at her watch, surprised. “Let's stay a bit longer. Mr. Collins wants us to join him for a group photo."
Ernesto informed Kaitlin as soon as he had seen her. It had been quite a challenge to bring everyone together.
Kaitlin nodded in agreement immediately. She had no intention of letting Ernesto down.
Denton glanced over at Alan and cleared his throat slightly. “I'm going to say hello to a few others. Excuse me," he said.
"Sure," Kaitlin responded.
As Denton moved away, Kaitlin gave a playful huff and feigned annoyance. “Alan, are you getting jealous again?" she teased.
Alan's expression grew somber, and he remained silent.
"You can be such a pain sometimes!" she exclaimed, a touch of frustration in her voice.
Feeling somewhat exasperated by his silence, she gave up trying to draw him out. "I need to use the restroom. Hold on for me, will you?"
Alan gave a silent nod and settled back into his seat.
Kaitlin set her handbag down and made her way toward the restroom.
However, just as she approached the door, Marcia blocked her path.
Kaitlin arched an eyebrow and gave Marcia a once-over.
Marcia, clad in a black dress, hadn't appeared at the party earlier.
Moreover, she had dropped out of the competition. Typically, Ernesto wouldn't have invited her.
Was Marcia here solely to meet Kaitlin?
“Marcia, what's going on?" Kaitlin inquired.
Marcia's expression was icy, her eyes brimming with bitterness and reluctance, giving her a somewhat menacing look.
Kaitlin had no interest in getting into trouble. Observing Marcia's silence, she decided to simply walk past her and leave.
