Chapter: 331
"Mr. Murphy, here are all the documents. Please take a look," Ashley said.

Shawn accepted them. Having thought Ashley hadn't been much help to him, he was surprised to find she had managed to accomplish her mission.

"Getting these project materials isn't easy, is it? Are you sure you didn't raise any suspicions?"

Ashley exhaled deeply. “It was quite a challenge to secure these documents. I really put in the effort. You won't go back on your word this time, will you, Mr. Murphy?"

Shawn looked at her and silently started to go through the documents.

“Whether it's true or not, I need to verify it."

Ashley gave a nervous laugh. “Of course, Mr. Murphy. Take all the time you need. I'll wait."

Ashley sipped her coffee as the room fell silent.

As the minutes ticked by, Shawn's expression turned more somber.

The documents detailed the suburban project from ten years ago, confirming it was indeed the last project his parents had worked on before they died.

And the person in charge of that project was Alan's father.

Shawn unearthed several clues scattered throughout the project file.

His parents were involved as a contractor, while Hewitt Group, as a client, was relentlessly pressuring them.

The demands were often unreasonable, bordering on causing serious disputes.

Ashley, noticing the shift in Shawn's demeanor as he perused the project materials, grew curious. It was evident from the documents that something was off.

After finishing the documents, Shawn closed the file. "You did a good job," he observed.

Shawn took a deep breath. With these documents in his possession, he could now carefully investigate past events.

"Given your trust in me, I'm committed to helping as much as I can,"

Ashley said.

“Thank you very much," Shawn responded with a polite smile. "If you have any requests, please don't hesitate to make them."

“Mr. Murphy, I think you know what I want," Ashley remarked.

She added, “I know better than to rush things, so I'll be waiting for your good news."

She then stood up, ready to leave. "Mr. Murphy, see you later," she called out, making her way out.

Shawn watched her go, his expression unchanged, while his assistant behind him frowned in confusion.
