Chapter: 335
Although Huntley's response was vague, he provided enough detail to slightly ease Shawn's suspicions.

He was clear on the crucial details, and everything seemed to fall into place.

This prompted Shawn to wonder if his investigation was proceeding unusually smoothly by mere coincidence.

Noticing Shawn's reflective silence, Huntley felt the urge to speak.

"Mr. Murphy, is there anything else you need to ask?"

Shawn closed his eyes briefly, pondering. “During that time, did you have much contact with the Aston family?" he asked.

Huntley was taken aback, not expecting such a direct question.

“Not much, but during the disputes, it was evident that the Astons were in a dire position. They were definitely the weaker party. They never defaulted on salary payments, though. The Astons are genuinely respectable people," Huntley responded.

With that, he let out a deep sigh.

Shawn didn't say anything, so Huntley continued, "I've heard the Aston family has gone bankrupt. I'm unclear on the details, but it's truly unfortunate."

Shawn's demeanor softened, his eyes tinged with a hint of sadness.

"That's enough. You can go now." Shawn dismissed him curtly.

Stunned by the abrupt end to their conversation, Huntley left the office quietly.

Once outside, he exhaled a breath of relief.

He was grateful to escape the tense atmosphere without saying anything that might have raised suspicions.

As Huntley approached the exit, Shawn's assistant, who had been waiting by the door, stepped forward.

“Mr. Murphy said I can leave now. What about the payment?" Huntley said.

The assistant drew a bundle of cash from his pocket and handed it to Huntley.

“Remember, keep this confidential," the assistant instructed firmly.

"Of course, of course," Huntley responded, a hint of relief in his voice as he accepted the cash.

Miguel sat in the study of his villa, receiving updates from his assistant.

“Huntley has been escorted home by Shawn's men. Everything is proceeding smoothly."

“Good. Make sure Huntley keeps quiet, or he's aware of the consequences."

"Mr. Hewitt, don't worry. I've made that clear to him from the start."
