Chapter: 336
"Alright." Miguel gave a sinister smile. "The stage is set. It's time for Shawn to play his part. Get in touch with Ashley and instruct her to convince Shawn to join forces with me against Alan."
The assistant nodded and responded, "Right away, sir."
"Hold on, remind Ashley to be subtle. We can't let Shawn suspect anything. Shawn has endured his burdens quietly for too long. His thoughts are deep," Miguel said.
"Okay, I will remind Miss Willis."
Soon after, Ashley received a call from Miguel's assistant. When she was informed of her task, she felt a mix of confusion.
“Cooperate? Did Miguel really suggest that?"
Wasn't he content just observing from the sidelines? Why did he feel the need to step in directly?
“Mr. Hewitt also suggested you phrase it diplomatically and have Shawn reach out to him first."
Ashley grasped Miguel's intention.
"Understood. Please tell Miguel that I'll handle it promptly."
"Okay."
After ending the call, Ashley flipped her hair back and gathered the documents from the table, preparing to head to the headquarters Rumor had it that Alan was back, though not with Kaitlin Moreover, whispers from the president's office hinted that Alan was in a bad mood, likely due to some disagreement.
This seemed like the perfect opportunity for Ashley.
At the Hewitt Group headquarters, the elevator dinged, and the doors slid open.
Ashley snapped back to reality and approached Alan's office with a smile on her face. “Hello, I've brought the project documents."
Dylan glanced at her and reached for the documents. "Mr. Hewitt is currently occupied and doesn't want to be disturbed. Please hand over the materials to me."
Ashley's brow furrowed briefly before she flashed him a smile again.
"Is Alan in a bad mood? Actually, I'd like to see him. It's been a few days."
Dylan was about to object, but Ashley interrupted with a click of her tongue. “I just need to see him for a moment. Did Alan instruct you not to let me see him? You work for Alan. You should be more sensible."
Dylan, taken aback by Ashley's remark, grew increasingly uncomfortable.
"Please hold on. I'll check if he's available."
"Sure, go ahead."
Dylan then went inside to inform Alan about the situation.
Alan became more impatient. "I'm not meeting anyone except for Kaitlin."
