Chapter: 338
"Mr. Murphy, it's just a woman's intuition. Couples argue all the time, but those two are both level-headed. If they're fighting, it's probably over something significant."

Shawn nodded before asking, "Did you come here just to discuss this?"

It wasn't a pressing issue; she could have easily mentioned it over the phone.

Ashley laughed awkwardly and responded, "Oh, that's not the only reason. You have the details on the suburban project. We're partners now, so could you share your plans?"

Ashley sensed something was off. All of Shawn's actions suggested he wasn't fond of Kaitlin.

But if that was the case, why would Shawn act like this?

Recalling Miguel's words when he handed over the project files, Ashley ventured a bold hypothesis. She was here to confirm that suspicion.

Shawn looked up at Ashley with a cold gaze, as if to warn her.

Yet, Ashley was undeterred. The more he tried to intimidate her, the more she believed in her theory. "Mr. Murphy, we're in this together now. If you tell me, I'll keep it to myself. I might even be able to help you.”

Shawn snorted dismissively.

What worth could a woman abandoned by Alan possibly have?

“Oh, let me take a wild guess, Mr. Murphy. You've dug into all of this, even cozying up to Kaitlin, all for the Hewitt Group, right?"

Shawn's hand froze momentarily, and Ashley didn't miss it.

She laughed softly and probed, "It looks Like I'm onto something. You and Alan have bad blood, don't you?"

“Miss Willis, you're prying too much. It's none of your concern."

"Mr. Murphy, it might not concern me directly, but we seem to be after the same thing. You aim to take down the Hewitt Group, and I'm after Alan. Don't we have the same goal?"

Shawn gave Ashley a piercing look. “What exactly are you trying to say today, Miss Willis?"

“Mr. Murphy, I'm here to offer a piece of advice. Have you come across Miguel Hewitt? He's Alan's uncle. He might just be the ally you need."

Shawn had heard of Miguel.

Miguel was now disabled and marginalized by Alan, rendering him ineffective within the Hewitt Group.

Shawn wondered about the value he would bring to him.

“Miss Willis, what are your thoughts?" Shawn asked.

“Mr. Murphy, our cooperation has no hidden agendas, which is precisely why I brought up Miguel," Ashley responded.

She paused, choosing her words carefully. “Though it may seem Like Miguel has lost his influence, he still holds his mother's shares. He's far from powerless."
